Project Brief
NIDA-Pakistan, KP Health Foundation & District Health Office have signed a tripartite agreement dated 1st April, 2022 under the Public Private Partnership mode where NIDA-Pakistan has committed to ensure delivery of healthcare services to the people and improving the quality of such Healthcare services in Category C – DHQ Hospital KOHISTAN at the district Upper Kohistan according to the Minimum Health Services Delivery Package (MHSDP) as determined by Health Department at the Assigned Health Facility by employing its skills and experience in public health management; The project has commenced on 1st April, 2022.

Project Brief
NIDA-Pakistan with the support of Welthungerhilfe (WHH) is implementing “Transitional Development Assistance (TDA) project in flood affected UCs of Tehsil Bankad Ranolia District Kohistan Lower.
The project aims at “The resilience of the affected households to the effects of the flood has been strengthened.”. This project was designed after rapid needs assessment of the project areas augmented with facts & figures of the natural disaster.
The proposed activities under this component are CBOs Capacity building on First Aid and Disaster Risk Reduction Measures (DRR) are planned to be organized in collaboration with Rescue 1122 Kohistan Lower and PRCS Kohistan Branch to equip community members to acquire knowledge/Skills and rehabilitation of Community Physical Infrastructure schemes under Cash for work (CFW). In addition Nutrition awanress sessions, Demonstration plots of Food diversified gardening, Staple crop and Fodder production are also part of TDA Project.
Dir Upper, a distantly located district, was affected by the flood 2022. The provincial government has notified Dir Upper among others as calamity hit district. Catholic Relief Services (CRS) jointly conducted a rapid need assessment with NIDA Pakistan, in the most affected UCs and villages of Upper Dir. The assessment team identified the need for the repair of communal water supplies, irrigation channels, and access ways that will benefit everyone in the concerned community. Consequently, a project designed to meet the needs of community – the project formally initiated in November 2022 & concluded in June 2023.
During this period, it was realized that destruction is far more than anticipated & a fresh assessment needed to evaluate the present scenario & to encompass all the livelihood requirements of affected community. The primary objective of the assessment was to support the livelihoods early recovery activities in the 2022 flood affected areas of Upper Dir.
It is in this scenario a fresh joint assessment carried out by NIDA & CRS from 24-27 May, 2023. Based on the findings of fresh assessment a four months’ project designed i.e., from Jun – Sep, 2023. A total of 45 schemes will be implemented, including 11 DWSS & 34 Irrigation Channels
